前言:2021年是滨松中国成立10周年,10年间也恰逢中国光产业蓬勃发展,光子学技术应用已无处不在。在此之际,滨松中国携多家专业媒体,走访了相关行业的专家和头部企业,推出“与光同行”系列采访。以他们的角度,来回顾各自行业发展、展望未来,共同绘制出一幅真实的、充满生机的中国光子技术及相关应用产业发展的画卷。体外诊断,是光技术应用的一个重要方向。此次,我们联合仪器信息网,访问了深圳大学张会生教授。结合他自身经历,围绕中国体外诊断发展,展开了分享。本文亦转自仪器信息网。
体外诊断仪器是获取临床诊断信息的重要工具,在临床医疗及相关医学研究中发挥着重要作用。目前,全球2/3的医疗决策是基于体外诊断仪器检测结果作出的。由此可见,体外诊断仪器技术的发展对人类健康的意义之重大。近年来,我国体外诊断产业迅猛发展,2020年中国体外诊断产业市场规模约1200亿元,且保持两位数增长。广阔的市场前景吸引了越来越多的资本和技术团队进入到体外诊断仪器研发领域。近日,仪器信息网采访了国内体外诊断仪器研发及产业化的代表学者之一,深圳大学教授及体外诊断仪器研究中心主任张会生,请他分享关于体外诊断仪器开发工作的心得体会。
张会生,深圳大学医学部生物医学工程学院教授,深圳大学生物医学工程学科体外诊断仪器研究方向学科带头人,深圳大学体外诊断仪器研究中心主任,深圳市体外诊断仪器共性技术服务平台主任,中国生物医学工程学会医学检验工程分会副主任委员,中国医疗器械行业协会关键原料及关键部件专委会副理事长。荣获深圳市国家级领军人才、深圳市技术创新能手、广东省优秀教师、深圳大学优秀研究生导师等荣誉称号。主要研究方向:体外诊断新技术与新方法、体外诊断仪器关键共性技术及关键部件、体外诊断仪器系统研发。主持科研项目包括国家科技支撑计划、国家自然科学基金重大仪器专项、广东省科技计划、深圳市重大产业攻关、产学研合作项目等共计30余项。
“误打误撞”进入体外诊断领域
1989年,张会生毕业于华东化工学院(华东理工大学的前身)。学生时期,他一直从事应用电子技术相关领域的学习与研究。毕业后,张会生在深圳一家企业担任工程师,完成了国内第一个临床电解质分析仪的研发工作。1992年,他受聘为深圳大学教师,就任于化学系仪器中心。1995年,他转系到计算机中心继续教育工作。上世纪九十年代,在国家提倡“引进消化吸收再创新”的背景下,张会生在体外诊断仪器国产化方面做了大量的研究,在这个全新的领域,张会生凭借自己多学科交叉的专业背景和自身不懈的努力,取得了一系列突破性成果。2006年,他转系到生物医学工程系,主攻仪器研发方向。
国产体外诊断仪器研发先行者
上世纪80年代,中国的体外诊断正处于起步阶段,市场被进口垄断。张会生回忆道,“那个时候的体外诊断仪器基本上都是进口的,市面上几乎看不到国产仪器”。早期的临床电解质分析使用火焰光度法,但其使用过程繁琐且需要点火预热,“医院检验科每次使用前需要进行点火操作,这个很麻烦,也不够安全。”
1982年,美国奥利龙公司推出全球第一款快速检测钾钠离子的电解质分析仪。相比火焰光度计,它极大的提升了检测的工作效率,但其更换电极频繁,且价格昂贵,让很多用户单位望而却步。90年代初,张会生研发了国内第一台电解质分析仪,打破了进口仪器垄断的神话,为国产仪器市场注入活力。
90年代,国民经济进入飞速发展时期,国家加大对卫生事业的投入,各国的自动化仪器涌入中国市场,进入各大省级医院,中国的生化及免疫学检验也随之发展起来。进口仪器虽然技术先进,但价格高昂,医院的使用成本高居不下。1998年,张会生结合我国医院临床的实际情况,为山东高密彩虹分析仪器有限公司研发了GF-200型和GF-D800型2款半自动生化分析仪,这两款仪器凭借微量、快速、准确等优点,在临床生化分析中被广泛使用,在全国各级医疗检验机构装机12000台左右。这两款半自动生化分析仪均被评为“国际级新产品”。
2003年,他帮助深圳市新产业生物医学工程有限公司研发的磁性均相酶联免疫分析系统,可以测量与生殖相关的物质、甲状腺分泌物、肿瘤标志、代谢类物质、药物等近40个项目,以其操作方便、精准度高、试剂稳定、无污染等特点,在全国几百家医院得到使用。
从学术研究到产业化
张会生指出,成果的产业化并不是盲目的。“创新有两种,一种是学术创新,另一种就是产业化创新。目前,我们的研究很多有学术价值,但没有产业价值。”张会生举例,“假设我研究一个新的技术,将人体温度精准到0.01度,从学术的角度上来看很有价值,可以发一篇很好的论文。但是,我花费10万块制造一台机器,将体温精确到0.01度并没有实际的意义,因为在医疗测温中,精确到0.1度就足够了。”
“做产业创新和做学术创新有很大的不同,产业创新更侧重给客户带来价值,让客户使用更方便、更快捷或者结果更准确,对产品本身的要求不仅仅是技术先进,更重要的是稳定、可靠和合适的价格。”张会生经常对学生说这句话。
2009年,张会生与深圳新产业公司开展合作,带领8人团队攻关全自动化学发光免疫分析系统,希望打破国外产品在中国市场的垄断地位。这在当时难度很大,但张会生坚持认为,“国外有,国内没有,临床又有重大需求,我们做工程的技术人员就应该研发这类东西,我们应该往前走,做难而正确的事。”2010年,团队每个人的辛苦付出得到了回报,“没想到我们的机器真的成功了,并且运行一直很稳定。”当时立项之初确定项目周期为1年,从立项进行仪器研发到仪器稳定运行那天也正好是整1年时间。
如何保证仪器产业化的顺利进行?
张会生表示,第一,进行需求分析。具体分析仪器的实用性,了解国内外性能指标,了解市场需求;第二,控制仪器成本。设计的时候,如果成本价格太高,仪器就没有竞争力;第三,技术要求过硬。“假如你做的比市面上都还差,你是浪费老板的钱。”张会生笑道。成功从来没有捷径。“专注去做任何东西,把它做好做深入,我做体外诊断仪器是这样,其他研究也应该这样。”
从仪器研发到人才培养
人才是第一资源,是衡量一个国家发展的重要指标。‘致天下之治者在人才,成天下之才者在教化’,人才的培养更是重中之重。在教育学生方面,张会生有自己的一套教育理念,“从我作为老师来讲,教学生两个东西很重要:第一个就是方向,第二个就是方法”。
关于方向,张会生一直秉持着在实践中学习的教育方向,为我国体外诊断产业培养了一批人才,当中不少学生现已身居大厂要职,切实推动着行业的发展。他强调,“能力是在实践当中提高的,一定要实践。在实践中不断总结,你就见的多了,经验也就多了。”为什么要这样做呢?张会生举例,“像我们做仪器开发,至少要会画电路板,做电路设计。还要懂点编程,编个软件。但是,很多做研究的学生,基本功就学得很浅,需要在实践中加强自身的能力。”
二是方法,仪器研发是一个系统性的工作,要注重培养学生的系统性思维。为什么需要系统性思维?张会生解释,“当我们研发一款检测仪器并把它商品化,仪器本身的稳定性、可靠性、准确性都非常重要,系统性思维可以帮助我们实现最终的目标。”
为了更好地培养研发人才,张会生也积极地推动着与业内企业的合作,特别是可以帮助学生加强对仪器整体的技术认知,和研发实操能力的项目。作为核心光电技术提供者的滨松公司,就是其中之一。双方合作多年,2015年共同建立“深圳大学—滨松光子·技术应用联合实验室”,旨在推动体外诊断仪器研发人才的教育、培养,以及光电器件技术应用课题的研究。张会生对滨松公司给予了很高的评价,认为其在光电技术上历史悠久的积淀值得国内同行学习。

中国体外诊断仪器发展充满潜力
“我们和国外比还是有一些差距的,但是我相信只要中国在这个领域不断的发展创新,未来我还是很有信心的。”张会生谈到,近年来,新的科学技术不断推动中国体外诊断飞速发展。一方面得益于改革开放后迎来的新时代;另一方面归功于中国人自身的勤劳努力和国家政策的扶持。“我们大多数中国人本身就很勤奋,乐于努力去追赶”。张会生认为,近年来我国体外诊断企业整体的创新活力要高于一些国际巨头,从研发的角度看,中国企业甚至在某些方面走在世界的前面。比如在每年一度美国临床化学年会暨临床实验医学博览会(AACC) 上,有越来有多的中国企业在最核心的场馆位置搭建特装展台,向世界展示最先进的产品技术,并获得广泛关注。
“我们虽然起步晚,落后一些。但我们跑得快。一切都有可能。”张会生说。
