THz PMT
R17201-01 是一款光电倍增管 (PMT),利用超表面技术进行 THz 波到电子的转换,并在 THz 波长范围具有灵敏度。该装置利用场致电子发射技术,其信号电流随入射 THz 波的电场强度呈非线性变化,从而能够增强并检测传统探测器难以检测到的 THz 波的细微变化。
下图显示了 THz PMT 的输入/输出特性。
利用外部光电效应的普通 PMT/II 产生的信号电流与入射光成比例,而利用场致电子发射的 THz PMT/II 则根据入射的 THz 波非线性地增减信号电流。
这样就可以清楚地检测线性响应探测器难以检测到的入射 THz 波的细微差异。
该图显示了 THz PMT 对于各频率 THz 波的响应特性。
图中表明,该装置在 1 THz 附近呈现最强响应,且在 0.5 至 2.0 THz 的宽范围内具有灵敏度。
可以看出,入射 THz 波所处频率发生水蒸气吸收时就会衰减,THz PMT 的信号强度也会相应减弱。
由于 THz PMT 和 THz II 依据的是天线电场发射的检测原理,其响应会随着入射 THz 波的极化方向发生变化。
下图显示了 THz PMT 对于各个极化方向的响应特性。利用这一特性,还可以测量入射 THz 波的极化方向。
